Review: L'OREAL True Match Crayon Concealer

I would say this concealer is light to medium coverage with a limited selection of colors. The concealer shades are just like the True Match foundations where they are categorized based on undertones like; cool, neutral, and warm. The shades are are listed on http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/l%27oreal-true-match-crayon-concealer/ID=prod6176070-product . This is still a very new product so it may be hard to find but I purchased mine from Target fro $7.99 prices may vary in different stores, on the walgreens website it's listed for $8.99 a dollar more. I will update tomorrow to test the lasting power and how it wears throughout the day. The shade I got for the concealer is W4-5, in the True Match Foundation I'm about W4-5 as well. The concealer and foundation shade are the same so it matches pretty well for me. Although I wish it was tad bit lighter...but the shade looks pretty natural on me. But if I went down a shade it would've been W1-2-3 and that would be way too light on me and those were the only two shades available for warm tone. Well I hope this is helpful! Update tomorrow!

Update
After a day of wearing the concealer I noticed that it sinks into my fine lines under my eyes. It emphasizes the lines even more and my under eyes appears to be very dry and the consistency looks patchy. So I wouldn't recommend this concealer to be applied under the eyes and I also wouldn't recommend this product for people with dry skin because it emphasizes your flaws even more. I would give this a 5 out of 10 scale and I wouldn't repurchase this product.
Pros
  • Easily blendable
  • Feels very light
  • Covers mild dark circles
  • Good for covering small areas
Cons
  • Texture is not very creamy ( more towards the dry side which can be good/bad)
  • The concealer crayon can't be sharpened
  • You have to push a bit harder to close the cap or it may dry up
  • Limited color selection

Review: Covergirl Clump Crusher Waterproof Mascara

So last month I was super duper excited to try the Covergirl Clump Crusher mascara based on the positive reviews of youtube gurus, at the time they only had the non-waterproof formula available in stores and online so I gave in and bought it knowing very well it won't work on my Asian lashes that point straight down. I started off by curling my lashes followed by applying the mascara. After a few minutes my lashes would fall flat again..DAMN ASIAN LASHES. But I still wanted to try for myself how well it works, so I tried it..and I love how the formula is similar to the Covergirl Lash Blast, where the formula is not too wet and it dries quickly but it just didn't hold my curl cause its non-waterproof.  There are similarities between Covergirl Lash Blast and Clump Crusher like; they both have the same rubbery spike wand and both tubes are very bulky. But the difference is the rubbery spike part of the wand on the Clump Crusher is slightly curved. Now that I tried the waterproof Clump Crusher mascara I think it's very similar to the Lash blast which I loved and the formula is very similar. I just think Clump Crusher does a better job of separating the lashes and it doesn't clump. But it doesn't hold the curl very well. Even after I let it dry and re-curled my lashes the my lashes would fall down a bit. I would not repurchase this mascara again, I still like my Maybelline mascaras more ;). Cover Girl Clump Crusher mascara is $9-10 now available in waterproof and non-waterproof.

Pros:
  • Clump free as stated
  • Separates lashes
  • Easily layered with several coats
  • Dries Quickly
Cons:
  • Bulky packaging
  • Doesn't hold the curl very well
  • Doesn't lengthening

Beauty Blender vs. Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge

Hello! So i just received my beauty blender today and I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet. But once I received it I quickly washed it :) and compared it to the Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge. I bought my Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge a few months ago, and once I opened it I wasn't to impressed because the sponge felt so stiff and I can't maneuver the sponge the way I wanted. But I still been using it to apply my Ben Nye banana powder because it had the tapered point where I can easily apply the powder. Anyways! Once I received my beauty blender I *SQUEEZED* it and it was sooooo!! BOUNCY!!! I didn't even use it yet and I already know that this sponge will work so much better then the Sonia Kashuk sponge because it was so much fluffier and easier to maneuver.

I started off by using the beauty blender cleanser to clean my Sonia Kashuk sponge to check how well the cleanser works on my dirty sponge, and surprisingly the cleanser took off all the powder and didn't leave any residue. But I wasn't too fond of the scent of the cleanser but it's not horrendous smelling so it's okay! Then I washed my beauty blender with the cleanser, and when you run the Beauty Blender sponge under water the sponge expands but compared to the Sonia Kashuk sponge it remains the same size. But i'll update this post tomorrow when I actually used the beauty blender to apply foundation and powder  to see how well it applies my makeup.

I ordered my beauty blender set from www.soap.com, the set came with 2 sponges and 5oz cleanser and it was $40.25 which is a bit a pricier then other websites like amazon, but it was free shipping when you spend $40 or more. My Sonia Kashuk sponge can be purcahsed at Target in store or online for $10.49.

Update
The beauty blender is awesome, blended my foundation flawlessly. It didn't leave behind any streaks and it's really easy to clean after every use. But just make sure you wet your sponge and squeeze out the excess water before applying your foundation. I think applying foundation with the beauty blender is less time consuming then using a brush.
